Municipality of Alleyn et Cawood

Our plan for Covid-19 is changing on a daily almost hourly basis. The MRC is working closely with the CISSO. We will mirror and adjust our plan with their updates. For now and the upcoming two weeks it's all about prevention. The Municipality recognizes the majority of its population are seniors. Special attention will be paid to the elderly, especially those who are 70 years of age and over, since they are at a greater risk of complications. Please do not hesitate to call our office if you or someone you know needs assistance 819-467-2941.

If you are experiencing:

  • Fever

·         Dry cough

Please call 1-877-644-4545. Please do not go to a hospital or CLSC unless completely necessary. The first thing you should do is self-quarantine and stay home.

Recommended hygiene measures:

  • Wash your hands frequently with warm running water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Use an alcohol-based disinfectant if you do not have access to soap and water.
  • Observe the hygiene rules if you cough or sneeze, and cover your mouth and nose with your arm to reduce the spreading of germs.
  • If you use a paper tissue, dispose of it as soon as possible, and then wash your hands.

A direct quote from the Warden of the MRC Pontiac

"This is not a time to panic, it is a time to have the correct information so we can control this through prevention by following a protocol. If and when the Pontiac is affected, even stronger measures will be put in place to the population. This will also become a time where neighbour can help neighbour."
